Yes! INTUS has an in-house engineering and drafting team that performs wind load calculations specifically for a project and determines if the window designs are structurally feasible. Next, we supply detailed shop drawings for the permitting and construction process.  We also look at a project’s construction documents so we can provide project specific installation details and propose the best way to attach our windows. These services result in a more structurally sound, thermally efficient, and quicker build.

Does INTUS handle the distribution and logistics?

About polymer

What is uPVC (commonly known as polymer in the U.S.)?

  • uPVC is PVC with no plasticizers, or unplasticized polyvinyl chloride – sometimes known as rigid PVC or Polymer in the U.S.
  • uPVC is made with a special formulation in which modifiers and lead-free stabilizers are added to PVC so it becomes rigid, making it suitable for window frames
  • uPVC is a rigid, chemically resistant form of PVC used for  pipework, window frames, and other structures

Not all polymer or uPVC is the same. INTUS takes steps to ensure our polymer is free of toxins like lead, BPA, and phthalates. Plus, we offset the carbon from our buildings through our One Window, One Tree program.

How do polymer windows compare to aluminum windows?

Aluminum is 1,078 times more conductive than polymer and polymer is number one in energy efficiency and sound insulation. Combine that with INTUS’ innovative features and commitment to energy efficiency, and the result is extremely energy efficient windows. That’s why we say our products are built to be energy efficient.

Is polymer good for fire hazard areas?

Yes! Polymer is self-extinguishing.

Can polymer be recycled?

Yes! The polymer that INTUS uses can be recycled up to 7 times, and the steel and glazing components can also be recycled. Polymer windows provide the best balance of price, performance, and eco-friendliness when compared to vinyl, fiberglass, aluminum, and wooden windows.

Does INTUS' windows off-gas or have lead, BPA, or phthalates?

No! Our products do not off-gas or contain any of these contaminants. We have a lead-free certificate available upon request and our products are eligible for the following LEED points within the Building Product Disclosure & Optimization category:

  • Product Ingredients (2 points)
  • Material Ingredients (2 points)

In total, INTUS Windows can gain a project 37 LEED point! View all point opportunities here.
